The Critical Seal for Parisi Cisterns
If you have replaced your internal outlet washer and the cistern is still losing water into the bowl, the issue is likely the SP.PA0033 Base Seal.
This heavy-duty rubber seal sits at the absolute bottom of the cistern. It creates the watertight compression between the Parisi Valve Base (SP.PA0028 / SP.PA0041) and the porcelain cistern floor.
-
Why it fails: Over 5–10 years, the rubber compresses and hardens, losing its ability to stay watertight against the ceramic surface.
-
The Solution: Replacing this seal is a cost-effective way to restore a “dead” cistern without needing to replace the entire porcelain suite.
This seal is specifically engineered for the high-pressure seating of Parisi’s most popular Back-to-Wall and In-Wall cisterns.
Engineered to suit:
-
Cistern Models: Parisi PA130, PA135, and PA136.
-
Component Pairing: This seal fits directly onto the underside of the SP.PA0028 and SP.PA0041 valve bases. These are the “cages” that your main outlet valve clicks into.
The Parisi Technical Authority in Sydney
Don’t guess with “universal” seals. Parisi internals have specific tolerances that hardware store washers simply cannot match:
-
Genuine Geometry: The SP.PA0033 has a specific profile designed to lock into the SP.PA0028/41 base without slipping during installation.
-
Mascot Pickup: We understand a leaking toilet is an emergency. Pickup is available within 1 hour from our Mascot warehouse. | Expert ID: Not sure if your cistern is a PA130 or PA135? Send a photo of the internal stamps to our team at sales@sydneybathroomware.com.au for instant identification.
-
Q: Is this the same as the washer on the “tower” of the valve?
-
A: No. That is the outlet washer. This is the Base Seal. If you see water leaking from underneath the valve assembly where it meets the porcelain, you need this SP.PA0033 seal.
-
-
Q: Do I need tools to install this?
-
A: You will need to remove the outlet valve and unscrew the base from the cistern floor to slide this seal on. We recommend a light coating of silicone lubricant (Plumber’s Grease) to ensure a perfect seat.
-
-
Q: Is it worth replacing the base (SP.PA0028) at the same time?
-
A: If the plastic tabs on your base are brittle or white-colored (stress marks), we highly recommend buying the [Base + Seal Bundle] to avoid having to pull the cistern apart twice.
